AMR Youth Symposium 2024

  • October 21, 2024

The AMR Youth Symposium 2024 was held on 21st October at XIM University, bringing together students, faculty, and experts to address the urgent issue of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). Organized by the XUREAUCRATS Club, SGPA, in collaboration with ReAct Asia Pacific, the School of Sustainability, and Xavier Law School, the event aimed to inspire young minds and encourage innovative approaches to combat AMR.

The event began with a powerful keynote address by ReAct Asia Pacific, explaining how AMR threatens public health and sustainability in the Asia Pacific region. This was followed by a panel discussion where experts from governance, law, and sustainability highlighted the need for collaboration across these fields to tackle AMR effectively.

The participants joined workshops that encouraged creative thinking and teamwork. These sessions focused on developing practical policies to reduce antimicrobial misuse and highlighted the importance of sustainable practices. Group presentations on real-life case studies allowed attendees to apply their learning to real-world problems.

The event ended with a call to action for continued efforts to address AMR and suggestions to expand future editions to include international perspectives and extended discussions.
