National Webinar June 17-19, 2021

The School of Governance and Public Affairs organized a three-day National Webinar on the theme, “Higher education in the covid era: challenges and opportunities”. The webinar has taken cognizance of the state and shape of higher education in India with the new normal of online learning. The first day was about technology and higher education. The panellists brought to light the technological innovations in the online learning, the equity issues of the use of technology in India were there is a vast digital divide and the ethics of the new normal. The day two was focused on financing higher education. With the economy in doldrums the private as well as public higher education institutions are facing a financial challenge of finding sustainable models of financing higher education. The speakers brought to light the possible pathways the private and public higher education institutions could take to sustain themselves. The day three was about the role of Industries in the higher education. Several Edu-tech industries have emerged to help the higher education institutions to smoothen the process of online learning. The panellists spoke about the new forms of collaboration and alternative paradigms in the world of tertiary teaching and learning.
