The SGPA PRAXIS committee hosted a webinar entitled- “Opportunities for Policy Professionals in Consulting Firms” featuring Mr. Pankaj Mall, the founder and director of Astittva Welfare Foundation, Delhi on 21st August 2024. With a deep commitment to social causes such as education, women’s empowerment, and rural development, Mr. Mall has led various initiatives across India, including the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign and Swachh Bharat mission.
During the webinar, Mr. Mall explored the intersection of public policy and the corporate world, emphasizing the wide range of opportunities available for policy professionals in both government and private sectors, including top consulting firms like KPMG, EY, Deloitte, PwC, BCG, Dalberg. He provided valuable insights on corporate hierarchies, the necessary skills to thrive, and the importance of staying updated and actively networking, particularly on LinkedIn.
Mr. Mall also engaged with students on the “HOW, WHEN, and WHAT” of public policy opportunities, addressing their queries and highlighting the essential skills needed to secure jobs in the field. He stressed the importance of being tech-savvy and provided strategies to navigate challenges such as dealing with superiors and political pressure.
